Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Aspherical Fisheye Manual Focus Lens Review

Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Aspherical Fisheye Manual Focus Lens on the Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP Digital SLR Camera

  • Overall its is a very well made lens, you might have expected a cheaper feel to it because of the low price. I was surprised when I bought mine, the main body is made of metal and the rubberized focus ring works very smooth like a higher end lens. The plastic aperture ring still works fairly smooth, feels a little cheaper and not as sturdy but for a 300 dollar lens is very nice.
  • The Samyung 8mm Fisheye f/3.5 lens gives you a 180 degree view with dramatic exaggerated perspective in your field of view. It has a multi-layer aspherical lens and multi-layer coating and can produce sharp defined images and video with hardly any lens flares or ghosting. It also has built in lens hood.
  • The front elements on the lens make it impossible to mount filters but with it being a fisheye lens most people do not use filters anyway.
  • This is a all manual focus lens which is great for video especially shooting action sports such as snowboarding and skateboarding. Once you get a hang of the all manual lens its very easy to fine tune the focus and set the aperture directly on the lens for your lighting.
